Hello friends!
I thought to start a fun new little series for those who also enjoy indulging in the little things in life, as much as I do. This is just something I thought to start as there’s a lot of really good stuff happening lately! I’m so excited, I have this one album on repeat which I will get into telling you about it shortly. Let me just keep on telling you about where I want to go with “Coffee Talk Tuesday.”
Whether it’s a new album from your fave artists, a new makeup product, a TV show, or even a book from your favorite author. Don’t you ever just get excited when new stuff is coming up? Or is it just me… Even if it is just me, I’d like to dedicate a couple days to just sit and talk about some things I like. You know, as if we were having a small catch up at a local coffee shop. See what I did there?
So let’s sit down with a cup of joe (that was so corny, I’m sorry I don’t know if I’ll say that ever again…lol), and talk about some cool stuff.
Lately, music has been poppin’! So many artists have been coming out with new albums, music videos, and tour dates. I got to attend the Vans Warped Tour in July with my boyfriend and a friend and it was coooool; but mostly hot because Texas heat is no joke. BUT let’s get into one of my favorite bands that I got to see live while we were there, Neck Deep. They came out with The Peace and The Panic the 18th of this month.
It’s different, still generic pop punk Neck Deep, but they definitely headed a slight different direction with this album. I LOVE IT. I still love all their other albums too, I don’t discriminate. They dropped a few singles before releasing the full album of course. (Happy Judgement Day, Where Do We Go When We Go, Motion Sickness, In Bloom) When they released the full album (which btw, Target carries the album with 2 bonus songs!) the song 19 Seventy Sumthin’ made me feel like someone was dicing some onions a little too close to me…ya know? Unfortunately Ben Barlow lost his father to a heart attack while he was on tour 2016 with I Prevail and Pierce The Veil. That’s why this whole album in general is so touching, he dedicates it to his father in the thank you’s of the album lyric book. I cried a little, it was sad, but still so beautiful. I’m really hoping to seeing them in January next year! I have this album on repeat along with another one…
Pvris, oh man. I can’t tell you how excited I was when I saw they were releasing new music too. I felt too excited. I discovered their music on Spotify in the related artists section, or maybe in one of their playlists…I honestly couldn’t tell you. Pvris was just the band I stumbled upon and I’m so happy that I did. Their album White Noise was definitely a favorite, again on repeat for days as soon as I discovered them. When I saw they were releasing All We Know of Heaven, All We Need of Hell, I couldn’t contain myself, it dropped a few days after Neck Deep’s album.
The songs they dropped as singles were Winter, What’s Wrong, Heaven, and Half. The song that caught my attention the most was No Mercy. Pvris is really different, it’s a blend of electronica music with some heavy metal tunes. They have easily made their way into my top fave alternative bands. SO good!! The lead singer wrote an excerpt to everyone about the album talking about how she wasn’t ready to create it, or release it, but the time came for it to go out into the world and for it to be whatever you need it to be. It was lovely and made me embrace the album 10x more. This is only their second album but they have yet to disappoint. I wish I could see them live, I hope that will happen soon!
I’m not about to talk to you about some good music and not recommend you any of their songs to listen for yourself…so here they are!
From Neck Deep I recommend: Over and Over, Kicking Teeth, What Did You Expect? Serpents, December, Kali Ma, Heavy Lies, In Bloom, Critical Mistake, and Motion Sickness.
From Pvris I recommend: You and I, St Patrick, Fire, Holy, Mirrors, No Mercy, Heaven, Separate, and Anyone Else
I hope you enjoyed this post! I love music, it heavily influences us and I feel it compliments our lives.
So what have you been listening to lately? Leave me some bands, songs, Pandora stations, or Spotify playlists to check out! Tell me what your favorite kind of music is. 🙂
Until next time!
